Volcán Acatenango

A night facing Volcán de Fuego.

A medium-difficulty journey combining culture, volcanic hiking and glamping opposite Volcán de Fuego. The climb follows volcanic dirt and sand; the ridge extension offers eruption views from the last safe point, while the extended departure adds a restorative day at Lake Atitlán.

The itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Antigua Guatemala

    Airport welcome, private transfer, centrally located villa, cultural walking tour and welcome dinner.

  2. Day 2

    Acatenango ascent

    Transfer to La Soledad, classic-route ascent, mountain lunch, glamping arrival and Volcán de Fuego extension.

  3. Day 3

    Summit and descent

    Sunrise summit, breakfast and descent. The extended departure continues directly to Atitlán.

  4. Day 4

    Return or Lake Atitlán

    The four-day route ends with an airport transfer. The extension includes kayaking, paddle boarding and free time by the lake.

  5. Day 5 · extension

    Return from Atitlán

    Breakfast and transfer to Guatemala International Airport.
